Carlo Bartoli for Rossi di Albizzate, pair of two-seat sofa and coffee table, model 'Blop', mustard velvet, lacquered wood, Italy, 1972. A postmodern design by Italian master of architecture and design Carlo Bartoli (1931-2020) known for his works that are immediately recognizable.

Design in the seventies was all about going beyond the strict conventions of modernism, with the exploration of the different qualities of materials, use of pop colors, and peculiar & symbolic appearances as outcome. The set called 'Blop' consists of two-seater sofas and a coffee table.

The upholstery is a beautiful velvet fabric. Voluminous seating cushions and round, bulky feet give the set its defining, distinctive look. The seating elements capture the redefinition of leisure in the 1970s, which was driven by the desire for a playful and relaxed environment.
